In Academic Success, we support the intellectual engagement and pursuit of learning by all KU students throughout their undergraduate education, from orientation to graduation and beyond.
As students develop their educational goals and career interests, we provide guidance, academic support, and ensure an accessible learning environment through advising, tutoring, supplemental instruction, and writing consultation. We offer a special emphasis on our first-year students, helping them establish a strong foundation through orientation, the KU Common Book, First-Year Seminars, and learning communities.

We provide a comprehensive range of career services designed to support students’ collegiate and professional career journeys, by connecting students with experiential and employment opportunities that prepare them to lead meaningful and purposeful lives. We also prepare students to compete for national and international fellowships including Rhodes, Marshall, and Truman.
Working with departments throughout the university, we are helping to implement the KU Core, which establishes new university-wide educational goals and learning outcomes.
As a department within the Office of the Provost, we serve the university as a whole, coordinating with faculty, staff, and students throughout KU to further educational initiatives and strategic goals.
